S.T.A.M.P (2024)
The Spokane Teaching Artist Mentorship Program (STAMP) offers student teaching artists from Eastern Washington University (EWU) and local artists the opportunity to develop their teaching skills alongside professional arts educators Posie Kalin and Jennifer Griffith. STAMP participants will be placed in one of HeARTworks’ K-12 art clubs through partnerships with Spokane Public Schools (SPS), where they will provide after-school arts classes across a variety of mediums.
LUMEN HS (2024)
This was a week long Heartworks arts intensive lead by Posie Kalin during the school day hours where students learned and applied elements and design principles to the creation of a collaborative mural in the community/cafeteria space at the school. Visiting "teaching artists" Mery Smith, Spokane's poet laureate, worked and shared with students in the creation of personal poems and Rachae Thomas, social justice theatre and actor, focused on the art of storytelling and improv.
